We offer a Classical Kintsugi Workshop supervised by Hiroki Suezaki, a leading master of the art.
Using traditional techniques passed down since the Edo period and natural tools crafted by artisans, you will learn the essence of remarkable craftsmanship and experience the spirit of Japanese culture.
「古典金継ぎ体験」Classical Kintsugi Workshop
- 100%自然素材と日本産漆を使用する最も古典的で本質的な金継ぎです。
- 金継ぎのハイライトである「金蒔き」装飾の体験ができます。
- 漆の採取方法、金継ぎの歴史、金継ぎ修復の工程を学べます。
- 使用する道具は、職人の手仕事による自然素材のものです。
- Authentic Kintsugi with 100% natural materials and Japanese lacquer.
- Try kin-maki, the gold decoration that is the highlight of Kintsugi.
- Learn about lacquer, Kintsugi’s history, and the restoration process.
- Use artisan-made tools crafted from natural materials.
HIROKI氏
江戸時代に確立された伝統技法の継承者として、漆を用いた「漆芸」修復に携わる。
その対象は、神社仏閣、仏像などの文化財や陶磁器、漆器、古美術品など多岐にわたる。
自然素材と職人文化の素晴らしさを伝えるために、文化財修復にも通ずる古典的な金継ぎ教室も主宰。
後継者作りや文化保持に意欲的に取り組んでいる。
As a successor of traditional techniques established in the Edo period, he engages in lacquer-based restoration of cultural properties such as temples, Buddha statues, ceramics, lacquerware, and antique art. He also leads classical Kintsugi workshops rooted in cultural heritage restoration, sharing the value of natural materials and artisan culture, while actively fostering successors and preserving tradition.
体験の内容 / Workshop Details
金継ぎの全6ステップのうち、「装飾」を体験いただきます。
Among the 6steps of Kintsugi, you’ll experience the “Decoration”.
【所要時間:90分 / Duration: 90min】
- オリジナルのデザインを考える。
- Think your own design.
- ベンガラ漆を塗る。
- Apply “Bengara Lacquer”.
- 漆の乾燥箱“室”で30分硬化させる。
- Place your object in “Muro” (Drying Box) for 30 min.
- 硬化の間、映像などで漆の歴史を学ぶ。
- Learn about “Kintsugi history & technique” by watching video during your object in Muro.
- 金粉による装飾をする。後日、作品をご自宅へお届け。
- Apply “Gold powder”.We will send your object to you.
年齢制限はありません。お子さまも是非ご参加ください。
